意味・用法
「です」と同じ意味で使われる非常に丁寧な表現。また「あります」の代わりにも「ございます」が使われます。

英語　
"~degozaimasu" is a very polite expression used in the same meaning as ”is. In addition, “gozaimasu” is also used in place of “arimasu."

▷ 使われ方

「～でございます」は名詞とナ形容詞に対して使われ、イ形容詞、動詞とは使われません。

名詞　

1. おすすめはこちらの商品しょうひんでございます。
What we recommend is this product.

ナ形容詞　

2. こちらの商品しょうひんはとても人気にんきでございます。
This item is very popular.

▷ 「あります」の丁寧な言い方

「あります」の非常に丁寧な言い方として「ございます」も使われます。

3. あちらの角かどを曲まがると本屋ほんやがございます。
Turn the corner over there and you will find a bookstore.

4. ご希望きぼうはございますか？
Do you have a preference?

N/ナ形（な） + でございます。

・このあたりは、とても静しずかで住すみやすい場所ばしょでございます。
This area is very quiet and livable.

・こちらが、お客様きゃくさまご注文ちゅうもんされた品物しなものでございます。
This is the item ordered by the customer.
