～ がち
【例文】
人はお金より大切なものがあるということを忘れてしまいがちだ。
People tend to forget that there are more important things than money.
【意味】
～てしまう傾向がある。～てしまうことが多い。
【用法】
何かをしたり、何かが起こったりすることが頻繁にある、または傾向があると言いたい時に使われます。基本的に話し手がそのことを良くない状態だと思っている場合に使われます。
【英語】tend to~, prone to~
"~gachi" is used to say that it is frequent or tends to do something or have something happen. Basically, it is used when the speaker thinks the situation/tendency is not favorable.
【文法解説】Grammar point 1：
ネガティブなことに使う
基本的に「～がち」は、例文１のように、話し手がそのことを良くないこととして捉えている場合に使われます。例文２のような言い方はされません。
1. 私の息子は嫌いなものを食べずに残しがちだ。〇
My son tends to leave things he doesn't like uneaten.
2. 私の息子は嫌いなものでも残さず食べがちだ。✖
No one can match him for speed of calculation.

V（ます） ＋ がち
（忘れがち、行きがち）
N ＋ がち
（病気がち、遠慮がち）

・「～がち」は漢字で書くと「勝ち」ですが、通常はひらがなで書かれます。
