文法-意味 grammar meaning

【文法解説】Grammar point 1:

「んばかり」は動詞に接続し、「まるで今にも～しそうなぐらい」という意味を表します。どの動詞にも接続することができるが、比喩表現としてよく使われるものには以下のようなものがある。

接続  formation

 V（ない形）ない + んばかりに
(割れんばかりに、切れんばかりに）
※する→せんばかりに

 V（ない形）ない + んばかりの + N

例文 example sentences

・彼女かのじょは僕ぼくの合格ごうかくをまるで自分じぶんが合格ごうかくしたかのように、はち切きれんばかりの笑顔えがおで喜よろこんでくれた。
She was so happy to see me pass the exam with a bursting smile on her face, as if she had passed the exam herself.

・私わたしは胸むねが張はり裂さけんばかりの気持きもちになって、その場所ばしょに留とどまることなどとてもできなかった。
My heart was so torn up that I could hardly stay where I was.

・彼女かのじょは今いまにも泣なかんばかりの顔かおで、声こえを発はっすることもなくうつむいていた。
She looked as if she was about to cry, and was slumped over without uttering a sound.

・彼女かのじょは彼かれからのプロポーズに飛とび上あがらんばかりに喜よろこんだ。
She was so happy that he proposed to her that she jumped up and down.

・彼女かのじょが演奏えんそうを終おえた時とき、会場かいじょうが割われんばかりの拍手はくしゅが沸わき起おこった。
When she finished her performance, the audience applauded so loudly that it cracked up the hall.

・彼女かのじょが描えがいた絵えの中なかの人物じんぶつは今いまにも動うごき出ださんばかりに表情ひょうじょう豊ゆたかである。
The figures in her paintings are so expressive that they seem ready to move at any moment.

・新あらたに建設けんせつされたその高層こうそうタワーは天てんにも届とどかんばかりの高たかさである。
Its newly constructed high-rise tower is so tall that it almost reaches the sky.

・その犬いぬは長ながい間あいだ離はなれ離ばなれになっていた飼かい主ぬしと再会さいかいし、千切ちぎれんばかりに尻尾しっぽをふって喜よろこんだ。
The dog was delighted to be reunited with its long-departed owner, wagging its tail like it was about to be torn off.

・あの嫌いやみなところが一ひとつもないあの兄弟きょうだいは親おやから溢あふれんばかりの愛情あいじょうを受うけて育そだったのだろう。
I think the siblings, without a single sarcasm, must have grown up with overflowing love from their parents.

・それが起おきたのは体からだが焼やけてしまわんばかりの暑あつい夏なつの日ひのことだった。
It happened on a hot summer day when my body was almost burnt.
