文法-意味 grammar meaning

～ ずにはおかない / ～ないではおかない

【例文】

①もし彼かれが私わたしに対たいしてそんなことをするなら、私わたしは仕返しかえしせずにはおかない。
If he does that to me, I cannot leave myself without getting back at him.

②彼かれからあふれ出でる魅力みりょくは、人々ひとびとの心こころを惹ひきつけずにはおかなかった。
The charm that overflowed from him did not leave people unattracted.

【意味・用法】
①行為者が「必ず～する」と言いたい時に使われます。話し手の行為について述べる時「必ず～する」という話し手の強い決意を表す。

②思考や感情、またその他の変化が自然と起こると言いたい時に使われます。

【英語】 
"~ zuniwaokanai" is used when the speaker wants to say "Someone will definitely do ~". When stating the speaker's action, it expresses the speaker's strong determination to "I will definitely~".

"~ zuniwaokanai" is used to say that thoughts, feelings, and other changes occur naturally.

【文法解説】Grammar point 1:

ないではおかない

「ないではおかない」も「ずにはおかない」と同じように使われます。

1. あなたのこの作戦さくせんが失敗しっぱいすれば、彼かれはあなたに罰ばつを与あたえないではおかないでしょう。
（＝与えずにはおかないでしょう）
If this strategy of yours fails, he will not leave you unpunished.

用法①：

・検察けんさつは意地いじでも私達わたしたちの責任せきにんを追及ついきゅうせずにはおかないだろう。
The prosecutors will never stop trying to hold us accountable by any means necessary.

・彼かれが本当ほんとうに裏切うらぎりを働はたらいたのであれば、私わたしはこの借かりを返かえさずにはおかない。
If he has indeed betrayed me, I will never let this debt go unpaid.

・少すこしでも怪あやしい行動こうどうがあれば、彼女かのじょは私わたしを問とい詰つめずにはおかないだろう。
If there was the slightest suspicious behavior, she would not leave me unquestioned.

・規律きりつを破やぶったことが上官じょうかんに知しれ渡わたれば、彼かれはあなたのことを罰ばっさずにはおかないでしょう。
If your superior finds out that you have broken discipline, he will not leave you unpunished.

・彼かれは戦たたかいに負まけ、捕虜ほりょとなった時とき、「この恨うらみを晴はらさずにはおかないぞ。」と心こころに深ふかく誓ちかったのである。
When he was defeated in battle and taken prisoner, he vowed deeply in his heart, "I will not leave this grudge unredeemed.

用法②：

・苦労くろうの末すえ登のぼりつめた先さきにあるその峻険しゅんけんな山やまからの景色けしきは、人ひとの心こころを打うたずにはおかない。
The view from the steep mountain, which is located at the end of the arduous climb, never fails to strike one's heart.

・彼女かのじょの天真爛漫てんしんらんまんな性格せいかくや、屈託くったくのない笑顔えがおは周囲しゅういの人ひとを惹ひきつけずにはおかなかった。
Her innocent personality and light-hearted smile did not fail to attract those around her. 

・今回こんかいの政府せいふの決定けっていは、中小企業ちゅうしょうきぎょうの経営けいえいに影響えいきょうを与あたえずにはおかないであろう。
The government's decision will not leave small and medium-sized businesses unaffected.

・彼女かのじょが民衆みんしゅうに対たいして行おこなった演説えんぜつは、人々ひとびとに真しんの勇気ゆうきとは何なにかということを考かんがえさせずにはおかなかった。
Her speech to the people did not leave people not thinking about what true courage is.

・その時代じだいに起おきた人口爆発じんこうばくはつは周囲しゅういの自然環境しぜんかんきょうを変化へんかさせずにはおかなかった。
The population explosion that occurred during that era did not leave the surrounding natural environment unaltered.
