▷ 使われ方

「～ようものなら」は、主に「～」には話し手がその実現を望んでいない条件が入ります。そして万が一「～」ということをしたら（ということが起こったら）何か良くない結果になると言うために使われます。

▷ 別の言い方

 例文2のように「～ようものなら」の代わりに、会話では「～ようもんなら」も使われます。

接続  formation

 V（意向形）   + ものなら
Group1：行こうものなら、言おうものなら
Group2：食べようものなら、見ようものなら
Group3：しようものなら、来こようものなら

In my time, if you disobeyed your club coach, you were subjected to physical punishment.

If you try to talk back to him, even a single word, he will double or triple the time of his lecture.

・田舎いなかの社会しゃかいにおいて、暗黙あんもくのルールを無視むししようものなら、逆ぎゃくに周まわりから無視むしされてしまう。
In rural society, if you try to ignore the unspoken rules, you will be ignored by those around you.

・締しめ切きりの時間じかんに少すこしでも遅おくれようものなら、あの教授きょうじゅはレポートを受うけ取とってくれない。
If you are even a little late for the deadline, that professor will not accept your report.

・もしこんなことが国民こくみんに知しられようものなら、大だいパニックになってしまう。
If the public were to find out about something like this, there would be a huge panic.
