～（の）いかんに関わらず/（の）いかんによらず

【例文】

理由りゆうのいかんに関かかわらず、注文ちゅうもん確定かくてい後ごのキャンセルはお受うけできません。
Cancellation of an order after it has been confirmed will not be accepted for any reason.

どんな～の場合でも

【用法】
「N（の）いかんに関わらず～」は、「～」で述べる内容が、どんな「N」の場合にも適用されると言いたい場合に使われます。

「N（の）いかんによらず～」も同じ意味で使われます。

【英語】
regardless of N,

 "N+ ikanniyorazu/ikannikakawarazu ~"  is used when you want to say that what you state in "~" applies to whatever the "N" is.

【文法解説】Grammar point :

「いかんに関わらず/いかんによらず」は、硬い文章などで主に使われ、法令、契約書、承諾書といった文書で目にすることの多い表現です。名詞の後に「の」が入る形も同じ意味で使われます。

いかんによらず

・理由りゆうのいかんによらず、教師きょうしが生徒せいとに手てを上あげるなど言語道断ごんごどうだんだ。
It is unacceptable for a teacher to hit a student, regardless of the reason.

・目的もくてきのいかんによらず、その資料しりょうを社外しゃがいに持もち出だすことは禁止きんしされている。
It is prohibited to take such materials outside the company for any purpose whatsoever.

・事情じじょうのいかんによらず、期限きげんを過すぎて提出ていしゅつされたレポートは採点さいてんいたしません。
Regardless of the circumstances, reports submitted after the due date will not be graded.

備考 note

漢字表記

「いかん」を漢字表記した場合は「如何」であり、「如何に関わらず」「如何によらず」となるが、「如何いかん」は常用漢字表の付表に記載のない熟字訓なので、ひらがな表記されることが一般的です。

「関」の訓読み「関かかわる」は、2010年に新しく常用漢字表に追加された読み方で、現在では「いかんに関わらず」と「いかんにかかわらず」のどちらの表記も使われています。
