▷ 使われ方

「～末に」は、良い結果と悪い結果のどちらの場合でも使うことができます。良い結果の場合は「ようやく・やっと」、悪い結果の場合には「結局」、などといった言葉と使われることがよくあります。

似た意味を表す「～あげく」は悪い結果の時に使います。

▷ 「に」の省略

「～末に」の「に」は省略される場合もあります。
