～を最後に
【用法】
「N を限りに」の「N」に時を表す言葉を入れて用い、その「N」という時点を最後に何等かの続いていたことが終わると言いたいときに使われます。「N限りで」も同じ意味で使われます。
【英語】
"okagirini " is used in the form of "N okagirini ~" to say that something that has been going on ends with the point of "N". A word for time goes in the "N." ”N kagiride" is also used in the same meaning.
【文法解説】Grammar point :
「N を限りに」の「N」には「今日、明日、今回」といった時を表す言葉が入ります。そして、その時まで続いていたことや習慣的に起こっていたことが終わると言いたいときに使われます。例文２のように、何かが始まるような場合には使われません。
1. 今日を限りにこの会社を辞める。〇
I quit this company as of today.
2. 今日を限りにこの会社に入社する。✖
I will join this company as of today.

定型表現
「Nを限りに」の「N」に時を表す言葉を入れる用法以外に、「声を限りに」のような定型表現もあります。この場合は「できる限界まで」という意味で使われます。
