【例文】

外食がいしょくばかりでなく、たまには自炊じすいもしたほうがいい。
You should not only eat out but also cook for yourself once in a while.

【意味・用法】
「いつもAするだけでなくBも～」といいたい時や、「全部AじゃなくBも」と言いたい時に使われます。

【英語】
”A bakaridenaku B mo” is used when you want to say not only "A " all the time, but also " B".

【Grammar point】

■ 使われ方

「～ばかりでなく」の後ろには助詞「も」が使われることが多いですが、必ず使わなければいけないというわけではありません。

1. 回転かいてんずしばかりでなく、たまには高級こうきゅうなすし屋やに（も）行ってみたい。
※「も」はなくても可。
I would like to visit a high-end sushi restaurant once in a while, not always a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant.

■ 他の形①：～ばかりじゃなく

「～ばかりじゃなく」も同じ様に使われます。

2. 遊あそんでばかりじゃなく、少すこしは勉強べんきょうもしたら？
(ばかりじゃなく＝ばかりでなく）
Why don't you not play around all the time but also study a little?

■他の形②：～ばかりではなく

「～ばかりではなく」と「は」の入った形が使われることもあります。

3. 人生じんせいはいい事ことばかりではなく、時ときにつらい事こともあるんだよ。
Life isn't always good, sometimes it's hard.
