「N を中心に～」または「N を中心として～」の形で、「～」で述べることの対象の範囲、領域などの中の主たる部分を示すために使われます。

地理的な範囲に限らず例文2のように、どの領域・ジャンルが主たるものなのか示すためにも使われます。

また、グループや組織などの「中心人物」を示すめにも使われたり、円や円運動の「中心」を示すためなどにも使われます。

用法①：範囲や領域の主たる部分

用法②：中心人物

・私達わたしたちのチームはキャプテンを中心にチーム一丸いちがんとなって優勝ゆうしょうを目指めざしている。
Our team is working together as a team, led by our captain, to win the championship.

・山田部長やまだぶちょうを中心とした優秀ゆうしゅうなメンバーの活躍かつやくで、このプロジェクトは成功せいこうしました。
The project was a success, thanks to the efforts of the excellent members of the team, led by Yamada-Buchou.

用法③：円や円運動の中心

・その施設しせつを中心として半径はんけい1km以内いないは立たち入いり禁止区域きんしくいきとなっている。
The area within a one-kilometer radius around the facility is a no-entry zone.

・体からだの軸じくを中心に回転かいてんするイメージでゴルフクラブをスイングさせてください。
Swing the golf club with the image of rotating around the axis of your body.
