【例文】
私がいくら努力したところで、彼には敵わないだろう。
Even if I tried hard enough, I wouldn't be able to compete with him.
【意味】
～たとしても
【用法】
「X ところで Y」の形で、「X だとしても Y」という意味を表す。「X」には、仮定した内容が入り、「Y」には変わらない、たいして変わらない、問題ない、といったことを表す内容が入る。
【英語】
"tokorode" is used in the form "X tokorode Y," and means " Y even if X." A hypothetical condition is placed in "X," and a statement such as things will remain the same, not change much, or no probleme is placed in "Y."

～ところへ/ところにへ/ところで
【文法解説】Grammar point 1:
「X ところで Y」の「X」には、仮定した内容が基本的には入り、「Y」には、変わらない、たいして変わらない、問題ない、といった内容が入る。そして「X だとしても Y」という意味を表します。
「Y」という変わらないことが良い場合（例文１）にも、悪い場合（例文2）にも使われます。
1. 両親に反対されたところで、私の決意は変わらないだろう。
（≒反対されたとしても）
Even if my parents were against it, I think it wouldn't change my decision.
2. 私が言ったところで、彼が私のアドバイスを聞くとは思えない。
（≒言ったとしても）
Even if I told him, I don't think he would take my advice.
「X ところで Y」を「X たとしても Y」に言い換えられる場合もあります。しかし、「たとしても」が「Y」に、「意志的なこと」や、「命令/依頼」を入れることができますが、「ところで」には入れることができず、「ところで」の「Y」には常に事態的なことが入ります。
3. 台風で電車が止まったとしても、会社には来てください。〇
（≒電車が止まったところで会社には来てください。）✖
Even if my parents were against it, I think it wouldn't change my decision.
4. 明日雨が降ったとしても、予定通り山に行こうと思っています。〇
（≒雨が降ったところで行こうと思っています。）✖
Even if I told him, I don't think he would take my advice.
